Franklin County Bicentennial Kite Fest
Union, Missouri – Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) is partnering with Gateway Kite Club to host Franklin County’s first Kite Fest on Saturday, April 6 from 1-4pm at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 600 Progress Parkway, Union, MO 63084.
Come fly a kite with us at the park! This free community event will kick-off National Kite Month with a celebration of the county’s 200th birthday and the county’s namesake, Ben Franklin. Highlights of the event will include professional flying demonstrations by Gateway Kite Club, a Kids Corner (150 kite building kits available for children on a first come, first serve basis), photos with Ben Franklin and refreshments.
The rain date has been set for Sunday, April 7 at the same time and location, if needed.
