Children's Christmas Party: December 6, 2019 -- at Union City Auditorium (500 East Locust Street), for kids 10 & under. Doors open immediate following the parade, at approximately 6:30pm. Bring your family to this fun & free event! There will be refreshments, face painting, balloon sculptors, picture's with Santa Claus (bring your own camera) and every child (10 & under) will receive a gift. NEW THIS YEAR: carriage rides around the square! Please bring a can food donation to help stock the food pantry for the holiday's.

Nerf Merry Mania: December 13, 2019 -- at Union's City Auditorium (500 East Locust Street). This special night is for all ages, so bring the whole family! Three 1-hour time slots to choose from: 6-7pm, 7:15-8:15pm and 8:30-9:30pm. Games will include: Capture the Reindeer, Save Santa & Mrs. Claus, Frozen, Elves vs Reindeer, Hide N Seek and Free for All. Participants MUST bring Nerf gun (that is compatible with microdarts), safety glasses/googles and wear non-marking shoes. Bring camera for pictures wtih a special guests. Valentines Dinner & Comedy Show: February 8, 2020
-- at Union's City Auditorium (500 East Locust Street) from 6pm-12am. Join us for the 18th annual event that is sure to have a lot of laughs! Comedians: Johnny McCarthy, Carolyn Agnew and Headliner: Jerry Donovan. This adult-only event will open at 6pm. Tickets include dinner, comedy show, rose (for the ladies) and dance. Cash bar will be available, no outside beverages allowed. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Tickets will go on sale December 2, 2019.

For tickets, stop in the Park Office in the lower level of City Hall, located at 500 E. Locust Street.

Rummage_SaleRummage Sale: March 7, 2020 -- at Union's City Auditorium (500 East Locust Street) from 9am-1pm. The fee for a table is $20 per table. Sellers get an eight foot by two and a half foot table to display as many items that can fit on or under the table. Set-up will begin at 6:30am the morning of the event. Sellers are required to stay set-up and onsite for the entire event, until end of the event. UPRD will place ads in the local papers, display signs, plus post on numerous social media sites prior to the event. Food, drinks, bake goods, commercial products, weapons, etc. are not permitted at the sale. UPRD reserves the right to refuse any item for sale that is inappropriate. Sellers are responsible for making change and collecting money for the sale of their own items. Bargain hunters will not want to miss this sale! Admission will only be one dollar for all ages! Kite Fest: April 2020 
-- More information to follow at a later date for the 2020 event

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: April 10, 2020 -- at City Park's Large Pavilion (575 North Christina Avenue) from 9am-11am. Breakfast will begin at 9am and the Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 10am. This special event provides families with kiddos (ages 1-7 years old) time to enjoy breakfast, pictures with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt. Guests are asked to bring a camera for photos and a basket for goodies. The hunt will be divided by age groups (1-3, 4-5 & 6-7). Three prizes per age group will be up for grabs. Breakfast will include donuts, milk and juice. The event will occur rain or shine. Cost is $2 per person. Parent/guardian must have ticket and supervise their child(ren) at all times. Both residents and non-residents are welcome.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at the park office, located in the lower level of City Hall at 500 East Locust Street. On sale ticket date will follow at a later date for the 2020 event.

Concert in the Park -- at City Park (500 West Park Avenue) from 6:30-9:30pm. Free concerts series performed on the first Friday evening of the month at the Large Pavilion in City Park. Come enjoy a variety of music. Coolers and food are welcome.

July 3 - Paul Cockrum Trio at Veterans Memorial Park (600 Progress Parkway)

Lawn Chair Movie Night -- at City Park (500 West Park Aveunue) starting at approximately dark. Free movie series held on the third Friday evening of the month in the large grassy area next to the Large Pavilion. The movie series is free and family friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and coolers! All friends of the community are invited. In the event of rain, the movie will be pulled under the Large Pavilion. 

Series line-up and approximate movie start times include:
May 15 – Dora and the lost City of Gold, start time: 8:30pm, run time: 1 hour 42 minutes
June 19 – Wonder Park, start time: 8:45pm, run time: 1 hour 26 mintues
July 17 – The Secret Life of Pets 2, start time: 8:45pm, run time: 1 hour 26 minutes
August 21 – The Lion King (2019), start time: 8:15pm, run time: 1 hour 58 minutes
September 18 – Aladdin (2019), start time: 7:30pm, run time: 2 hours and 8 minutes

41st Annual Founder's Day Festival: June 6, 2020 -- at  City Park (500 West Park Avenue) the first Saturday in June from 7:30am-11pm. A celebration featuring a fun 5k/10k run/walk, craft booths, 3
on 3 basketball tournament, BBQ Contest, children's activities/games, food/beverages and music entertainment (Starlighters 2-5pm, Pilot Grove 5-8pm and Disengaged 8-11pm) that will last until 11pmMore information to follow at a later date for the 2020 event.

Union Firework Festivities: July 3, 2020 -- at Veterans Memorial Park (600 Progress Parkway). The display will ignite at approximately 9:30pm . Food, drinks and adult beverages will be offered for purchase. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and yard games to make an evening of it at the park! The event is sponsored by the City of Union and Sons of American Legion Squadron 297. More information to follow at a later date for the 2020 event.

Doggie Day at the Pool: August 2020 -- at Splash-n-Swimplex (375 West Park Avenue) from 6pm-8pm. Dog days of summer getting you down? Bring man’s best friend and come cool off in our beautiful pool. Owners are responsible for cleaning up any accidents (both liquid and solid). Dogs must be accompanied by an adult and keep collar or harness on at all times. Guests may use punch card for this event. Fee is $TBD/pup with a maximum of two pups per adult handler.

Vintage Base Ball Event: TBA -- at Veterans Memorial Park Field 5 (1012 Veterans Memorial Drive) from TBA. Come out to witness base ball as it was in the 1860's. Two St. Louis vintage base ball teams will face-off for two seven-inning games or one nine-inning game. Be sure to bring a cooler and chair/blanket to enjoy the show! This is a FREE community event!

Boo Bash!: October 23, 2020 -- at the Large Pavilion in the City Park (500 West Park Avenue). Join Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) and Union Area Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Boo Bash! This is a free family community event. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times.

The Chamber will host the Children's Costume Contest under the Large Pavilion, for kiddos ages 10 and under. Prizes are awarded to the following age categories: newborn-1, 2-4, 5-7, 8-10, and Group/Family. The more creative the better! Pre-registration is not required, just be under the pavilion no later then 6pm, because the contest will start promptly at 6:15pm. Stick around for UPRD's Trunk-or-Treat! Activities include trick-or-treating, hay rides and refreshments.
