Concert in the Park -- at City Park (500 West Park Avenue) from 6:30-9:30pm. Free concerts series performed on the first Friday evening of the month at the Large Pavilion in City Park. Come enjoy a variety of music. Coolers and food are welcome.
Series line-up includes:
August 7 - Melissa Fyr Quintet
September 4 - Crossfire

Lawn Chair Movie Night -- at City Park (500 West Park Avenue) starting at approximately dark. Free movie series held on the third Friday evening of the month in the large grassy area next to the Large Pavilion. The movie series is free and family friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and coolers! All friends of the community are invited. In the event of rain, the movie will be pulled under the Large Pavilion. 

Series line-up and approximate movie start times include:
June 19 – Wonder Park, start time: 8:45pm, run time: 1 hour 26 minutes
July 17 – The Secret Life of Pets 2, start time: 8:45pm, run time: 1 hour 26 minutes
August 21 – The Lion King (2019), start time: 8:15pm, run time: 1 hour 58 minutes
September 18 – Aladdin (2019), start time: 7:30pm, run time: 2 hours and 8 minutes

Adult Sand Volleyball: taking registrations now to start in August. Get your team registered at:

Union Firework Festivities: July 3, 2020 -- at Veterans Memorial Park (600 Progress Parkway). The display will ignite at approximately 9:30pm . Bring lawn chairs, coolers, blankets and yard games to make an evening of it at the park! The event is sponsored by the City of Union and many business's.  There is no concessions or bands playing at this event. Social distance guidelines are in place for this event. 

Doggie Day at the Pool: August 2020 --  at Splash-n-Swimplex (375 West Park Avenue) from 6pm-8pm. Dog days of summer getting you down? Bring man’s best friend and come cool off in our beautiful pool. Owners are responsible for cleaning up any accidents (both liquid and solid). Dogs must be accompanied by an adult and keep collar or harness on at all times. Guests may use punch card for this event. Fee is $TBD/pup with a maximum of two pups per adult handler. CANCELLED!

Boo Bash!: October 23, 2020 -- at the Large Pavilion in the City Park (500 West Park Avenue). Join Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) and Union Area Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Boo Bash! This is a free family community event. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times.

The Chamber will host the Children's Costume Contest under the Large Pavilion, for kiddos ages 10 and under. Prizes are awarded to the following age categories: newborn-1, 2-4, 5-7, 8-10, and Group/Family. The more creative the better! Pre-registration is not required, just be under the pavilion no later then 6pm, because the contest will start promptly at 6:15pm. Stick around for UPRD's Trunk-or-Treat! Activities include trick-or-treating, hay rides and refreshments.

41st Annual Founder's Day Festival: TBD 2021
Rummage Sale: March 6, 2021 --held at the Union City Auditorium (500 E. Locust). Time to clean out the clutter and make a profit. The fee is $20 per table, set up will begin at 6:30 am and conclude at 8:55 am.  Stop by the office and pick out your space.
