Rotary Club Donates Dictionaries

Union, MO – Members of the Rotary Club of Union distributed dictionaries to the third grade classrooms at Immaculate Conception School on Monday morning. This year is the first year the club has participated in The Dictionary Project. The goal of the program is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers and resourceful learners by providing them their own personal dictionary. Over 31 million dictionaries have been distributed across the United States since the program began in 1995. All third graders in Union R-XI School District will also receive their own dictionaries to keep in October.

The Rotary Club of Union meets on Wednesdays at noon at Union Fire Station #1, located at 1401 W. Springfield Ave. For more information or to get involved with the club, contact the club president at 636-583-8471 or alairmore@unionmissouri.org.
