Union, Missouri – Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) received a generous $250 donation from Sons of the American Legion Squadron 297 for the annual Children’s Christmas Party.

Angie Breeden, Program Coordinator, accepted the donation on behalf of the department from Dr. Virgil Weideman. Donations make the annual free community event possible.

Children’s Christmas Party is scheduled for Friday, December 6 from 6:30-9pm at Union’s City Auditorium, located at 500 E. Locust St. The event is designed for kids, ages 10 and under. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times. There will be refreshments, face painting, balloon sculptors, picture's with Santa Claus (bring own camera) and every child (10 & under) will receive a gift. A new element for this year’s event is horse-drawn carriage rides around the square will be available. A donation of a can food item is requested to help stock the food pantry for the holiday season.
