Union, MO

In June 2020, Union residents will have an opportunity to vote in the general municipal election.   

Following are the aldermanic races as listed on the ballot.

Additionally, Union residents will have an opportunity to vote on Proposition U.    Prop U would approve a "use tax" on the purchase of goods from out-of-state vendors.    Union residents are encouraged to learn more about the proposed use tax.  Facts and frequently asked questions are available at www.unionmissouri.org/propu.

Following is the Proposition U ballot language you will see on April 7th.  

PROPOSITION U (Simple Majority)
Shall the City of Union, Missouri impose a local use tax at the same rate as the total local sales tax rate, currently 2 percent, provided that if the local sales tax rate is reduced or raised by voter approval, the local use tax rate shall also be reduced or raised by the same action? A use tax return shall not be required to be filed by persons whose purchase from out-of-state vendors do not in total exceed two thousand dollars in any calendar year. Yes No
